Bird In Hand, 1 Langley Terrace
In 1836 the Langley Field colliery and blast furnaces was put up for sale, together with nine cottages, shops and stables, one of the houses was a public house which was let with 5 acres of land for a term of years determinable on three lives aged 37, 35, and 33 years, at a reserved annual rent of £25.
The above public house must be the Bird in Hand.
